Using your chosen search method, there are markers according to the type of song or theme within it.  

  1. A^ - Australia
  2. B^ - Beatles 
  3. C^ - Cockney - no precision intended
  4. D^ - mentions death or dying.  There are situations where the topic, in song, is best avoided.
  5. $ -  American - no precision intended
  6. F^ - in a film, musical or show (Can't distinguish as need M for the sea and S for Scots)
  7. G&S - Gilbert & Sullivan - only two
  8. I^ -  Irish - only two
  9. J^ - Jamaica - calypso (C used for Cockney)
  10. M^ - mariner songs, sea shanties etc
  11. P^ - can be played on the bagpipe
  12. S^ - Scots  
  13. WW - either WW1 or WW2, some both
  14. Y^ - youtube - many include annoying adverts to be clicked away before starting
