1  Caree and carer benefits

Although carers have their own set of pages here, there's no reason for them not using this series.  Some of them will have carees who come into scope.

Bearing in mind that carers might use, and carees can benefit from the outcome of these pages, there is an underlying reason for the creation of these pages as seen in 2.

2  The "traditional" songs and music may disappear

The "traditional" songs and music some readers remember may disappear along with those who remember them.

3   Google search

Put "traditional British songs lyrics" etc into Google and there's plenty to explore here.  Search after removing "lyrics" and the result  is not much different, just more adverts.  Put "the future of " in front, and this is high in the result here. This page, however, is not the place to compare Scotland with any other country.

4   Let's get on with looking at what might be useful

It is hoped that readers will agree with the need to keep trad songs and music alive.  It's also not the place to define trad songs and music. Much better to get on with looking at what might be useful.

5  A good starting point

On looking at my stack of books, I realised that it could be a daunting task listing a range of suitable songs and music.  Looking wider resulted in two long lists which I have combined into one here.   That list has been used as a good starting point below.

Some readers will have a commitment to a group or groups of carees and purchase of the two A5 books is recommended.

The list of songs includes those which I can use with groups.

6  What to do if If you can only remember a word or two of a song etc title

The "etc" might be a group or theme

If you can only remember a word or two of a song etc title, use Control F and paste into the resultant box.

For example, you remember   -  Tip Toe  - and have forgotten it was in the tulips or vice versa.

The result is 3.  One here, one for Tip Toe and one for Amsterdam..

Look in the book of the title colour.

7  Finding lyrics and chords

Some readers may decide that the two books don't meet their needs.  Most will know how to find lyrics and chords.  If not please use the Contact page.
