1 Agree my being able to show a BILD public page introducing BILD to readers who have not met it
The protocol I am happy to follow. I hope we can proceed.
2 Agree its content
2.1 The page shows the BILD central text from its Home page on the left and
2.2 on the right the reasons for including BILD on this website
2.3 The page is here. When agreed, it would appear to the left of LTI below the header graphic here
3 Specifically, identifying resources relating to age-appropriate interaction - adults with learning disabilities
3.1
The following headings were searched:
A - Age-appropriate interaction
B - Age-appropriate
with useful differences
3.2
The blocks of text need to be presented in general reader-friendly format, if chosen.
The same page as in 2 is here.
4 From 2, selecting some for the public page while others will be for specific private readership
4.1
The specific private readership initially is BILD staff and those referred by them. Later, it could widen to external academics, healthcare professionals and so on.
5 Focus on age-appropriate interaction - adults with learning disabilities - context of song and music therapy
The first stage is for me to find any refs on the BILD website
6 Highlight key points on some public pages re 5 on this website
7 Identify BILD events of possible use to me in the context of my role as carer and standard availability on Wednesday afternoons. Other times require carer-cover. Wednesday afternoons is my respite time and that could be changed. My local activity is on Tuesday afternoons for c 40 mins.
8 Look at ways I can assist or contribute to the work of BILD and explore joint venture
- The Internet searches carried out may be of use. Example - public page here
- Public page - Nordoff Robbins - music therapy charity here Evaluate according to context.
- Update 5 Aug - Explore running song/music sessions, ideally midway between BILD and Ross-on-Wye. At present, Wednesday afternoons is my respite time and that could be changed. My local activity is on Tuesday afternoons for c 40 mins.
- Work with one or more musical member/s of staff. Anyone involved in this? Linked from here.
- Ideally, include another (or others) with no musical ability to see if such people can cope with playing Spotify songs/tunes. When selling the idea to orgs, leave no space for them to say they have no staff with musical ability or interest.
- Looking forward to finding out how BILD works with universities . .
- and, in this context, their Depts of Music. Also colleges with same.
- Later, perhaps include people with DIY skills and interest in this work. Might need to move on to Colleges of FE.
- Is it worth looking at previous BILD events to find people with possible interest? Example?
