An exploration of the UK unpaid carer's world

Lutterworth - a DMC  emerges

MINUTES OF THE LUTTERWORTH TOWN COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 9 FEBRUARY 2016

Prior to the Town Council meeting members received a presentation from Professor
Jacqueline Parkes, Chair of the Lutterworth Share and Care Group, which
highlighted that the objective of the project is to provide a support group for people
living with dementia together with their carers who reside in Lutterworth and the
surrounding villages within an eight mile radius. To date there had been 27 residents
and their carers that had used the constituted group for social support.                                      source here

The Share & Care Group

The Share & Care Group is a social support group for people living with dementia together with their carers who live in Lutterworth and the surrounding villages. Meetings are run by professionals and volunteers who are trained to help those suffering from dementia cope better with their condition. The meetings, held in safe locations such as Lutterworth Methodist Church and the Parish Church of St. Mary, centre around a social gathering of people who share similar circumstances. Coffee mornings normally take place twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Friday from 10am to 12 noon, but the times and venue can vary. Please contact the group to find out more.
