1        Introduction
  1. Aims are easier to discuss than ethos
  2. Aims can't enter into one's head unless tandemised by objectives
  3. Ethos is the moral element of the DIY DMC which determines its action
  4. The aims are the what of this project, and the objectives are the how
  5. The highest aim is to innovate within local dementia care provision
  6. The highest objective is to provide a new care-fusion of dementia therapy and carer therapy
  7. Aims and objectives are the hors d'oeuvre to the Mission Statement.

11   Aims are easier to discuss than ethos
  1. We will start with aims.

1.2   Aims can't enter into one's head unless tandemised by objectives
  1. The overall aim of the implementation study MEETINGDEM is to prepare, support and evaluate the dissemination and implementation of the successful multicomponent MCSP (Meeting Centers* Support Programme) for people with dementia and their carers in Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom.  source  * Translated from Dutch into USA English

  2. The word objective does not appear on the page.

1.3   Ethos is the moral element of the DIY DMC which determines its action
  1. If we  look at the presumed ethos of the international project, one objective follows.

  2. ETHOS - The predicted increase in the number and proportion of older people with dementia over the next 40 years highlights the need to identify ways to promote timely cost-effective interventions that help people with dementia to continue to live independently in the community as long as possible.

  3. OBJECTIVE - In order to address this issue and solve the above mentioned problems, the MCSP (Meeting Centers* Support Programme) offers an integrated package of care and support. source  * Translated from Dutch into USA English

1.4   The aims are the what of this project, and the objectives are the how

1.5   The highest aim is to innovate within local dementia care provision

1.6   The highest objective is to provide a new care-fusion of dementia therapy and carer therapy

1.7   Aims and objectives are the hors d'oeuvre to the Mission Statement

2     Mission Statement

The DIY DMC project is committed to:
  1. Continuing as the only practical form of DMC within a climate of dwindling financial support for local mental healthcare

  2. The continuity of  the too-few UK DMCs and the creation of more

  3. Bringing a shorter lead-time to the creation of new DMCs by delaying some of the preliminaries

  4. Publicising the huge difference between a daycare centre and a DMC in that carers participate in the wider aspects of the care process hitherto being a one-to-one activity
  5.
  6. Improving local dementia care provision by giving  people with dementia and their carers real choice, whilst promoting and sustaining as much independence and control over their lives as possible
