Stand up for your rights - dangerous WAV Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle
Jubilee Automotive Group - Wednesbury
After protracted complaints by email and telephone, the Group returned the money paid for the vehicle. No consideration was given to travel expenses - several trips of 150 miles each. Still less consideration given to the incident and compensation.
Below - a few of many emails - most were ignored. As you see, some repeated text. A recorded-delivery letter threatening legal action changed things.

I hope that the tailgate can be looked at. It drops. Looking at the top, there seems room for additional height on opening. Could the car be fitted with longer, stronger struts, please? There may need to be a hanging strap. Please advise price of remote unit to lift the tailgate. It is needed.

Things are not going well. The following is extracted text of urgency.
The tailgate was checked by Jubilee on 5 Nov. It didn't do then what it had been doing - dropping down.
I was told that the tailgate cannot be lifted electronically. The notes given to me indicate the opposite.
The tail gate crashed to the ground yet again. The matter is urgent before there is a nasty foot-accident. It must be done on Wednesday 12 Nov in the morning. Anything less is unacceptable.
The ramp often falls to the ground with a crash. I have an expert witness.
When the video was made, it only indicated that there is a problem as the ramp fell untypically.

I went to the local supermarket on 7 Nov, parked and proceeded to remove my shopping trolley. The tailgate was at its highest point and appeared to be stable. As time was limited, I risked not using the pole. With my back turned to the tailgate, I heard a female-scream and looked round to see its owner picking up her specs. Neither she or her husband were limited in comment, the latter being somewhat pugilistic in body language. A small crowd had gathered. Once things had quietened down I was able to proceed.
1 in 10 times it drops.

The fact that I roam the West Midlands etc with a pole to keep the tailgate safe was received with nonchalance. I made the point that it was OK on the day inspected but prone to being a danger.
Am I a good advert for the company when I need to carry a pole?
