The outcomes of the day are that:
· You will have a clear picture of the role and boundaries of a Dementia Friends Champion
· be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of dementia
· gain confident presentation/delivery skills
· know where to obtain further support, resources and guidance
The outline of the day is as follows:
· During the morning I will deliver the Information Session to attendees to provide an example
· We will analyse the Information Session together, discussing the delivery and purpose of each section
· We will learn more about the Dementia Friends programme here
· Attendees will read the code of conduct and raise any questions
· During the afternoon we will look at how to plan and promote Information Sessions
· Attendees will participate in a practice presentation activity to demonstrate delivery skills
· I will demonstrate how to use the website and where to obtain your materials and session resources
· I will inform you of the next steps, for example what support is available to you in your role, if you are successful in becoming a Dementia Friends Champion
