1   Summary


  1. Career included being a Lecturer in Gastronomy at Surrey Univer­sity, Director of the Edinburgh Hotel School at Crewe Toll, an Open University Tutor/Examiner within the Post-Grad course in Educational Manage­ment and Head of Faculty of Community Studies at Canterbury College. 

  2. I was a University Dean in France and Switzerland and became Professor independently in 1992. Other foreign activities included being a Tourism specialist (hence graphic) and academic adviser in fifteen countries.

  4. Retired and living near Hereford, I am available as a speaker.  Involved in various community/charity projects before and since 2004 on moving to Ross-on-Wye.

  1. Four years FT technical college education to 1961
  2. Worked in the broad field of hotel, catering and tourism until 1965.
  3. Taught in FE to 1966
  4. Cert Ed - 1967 and returned to FE
  5. Moved to HE in 1974
  6. Returned to FE - senior posts, 1977 - 1988.
  7. Tourism specialist and academic adviser in fifteen countries - 1988 - 2000.

  1. Six years PT O U studies to BA (Hons) 1974 - 1977

  2. Two years PT study - M Ed Edinburgh University to 1982

  3. TEFL Certificate 1990 - see 7 above.  In many different roles, a common denominator was "While you are here,                                                                         can you teach us English?"
