Carer Brian is angry with carer provision. Carer Enid is exasperated with ditto and it’s being reduced. Obviously, both are at the end of their tether. I have been shouting “tether” at 2gether – 2g, for three months. Towards the end of that period, a meeting took place. The amount of stress involved in arranging it was so much that it was necessary for my daughter to clinch the deal.
Apart from the superficial use of the word sorry, the outcome of the meeting was that support would be arranged. After ten working days, there has been very little other than 2g finding out if I want to send my opinion of its website. Most of all, I wanted an immediate connection to an existing support group. What could be simpler than that? The 2g website is low priority before actual support. Move NOW as requested re contacting Dr L. I can’t see him until 2g has acted.
The 2g approach to emails is wrong. I send them but receive no proper response until threats are made. If I must resort to pasting sheets of paper in public places, this is just the start. Stage 2 is the windscreens within your nearest car park. Next stop, the windows of the Hereford Times plus large windows of shops in the centre of Hereford. Tip of an enormous iceberg.
Ask staff in the 2g Memory Service [2MS] to point you to my website . Meet Brian and Enid in the Carer section. Meet Nicholas Stacey among two dozen at-present-hidden pages devoted to 2MS. Go to the series updates.
Most carers have felt trapped in a vice and now, with decreasing provision, the vice is becoming tighter. "Service" providers need not be so heavy handed resulting from cuts.
To the tune –
“Wake up, little Susie”
2g singing to itself – little = small-minded
Wake up, little 2g, wake up x2
2g’s been sound asleep
Wake up little 2g and weep
The email’s here and we don’t care
And we're in trouble deep
Wake up, little 2g x2
Well, when we gonna send a reply
When we gonna give a sigh?
What are we gonna tell our colleagues
When they say, "Just tell a sorry lie"
Wake up, little 2g x2
Unanswered emails amount to ten
Well, 2g baby, looks like we goofed again
Wake up, little 2g x2
We gotta be more O-pen
Wake up, little 2g, wake up x2
The answer won’t be so hot
It won't have much of a plot
We fell asleep, our goose is cooked
Our reputation is shot
Wake up, little 2g x2

Find “Wake up, little Susie” on YouTube and sing the 2g version along with the Brothers Everly. It might sit next to them one day.

We both fell sound asleep
Wake up little Susie and weep
The movie's over, it's four O'clock
And we're in trouble deep
Well, what are we gonna tell your mama?
What are we gonna tell your pop
What are we gonna tell our friends
When they say "Ooh la la"?
Well I told your mama that you'd be in by ten
Well Susie baby looks like we goofed again
We gotta go home doesn't rhyme
The movie wasn't so hot
It didn't have much of a plot
We fell asleep, our goose is cooked
Our reputation is shot
